Negative Impact of False Media Data on Public Diplomacy

Abstract

In today’s world, international relations are very important for every country. They help states work together in areas such as politics, economy, culture, and security. For Ukraine, which continues to build strong relations with the European Union, NATO, and many other partners, international communication has a special meaning. One of the main tools of this communication is public diplomacy, which helps create a positive image of Ukraine in the world and explain its position on global events. The aim of this paper is to show how false media information can negatively affect public diplomacy and how countries, especially Ukraine, can respond to this problem. У сучасному світі міжнародні відносини є дуже важливими для кожної країни. Вони допомагають державам співпрацювати в таких сферах, як політика, економіка, культура та безпека. Для України, яка продовжує будувати міцні відносини з Європейським Союзом, НАТО та багатьма іншими партнерами, міжнародна комунікація має особливе значення. Одним з головних інструментів цієї комунікації є публічна дипломатія, яка допомагає створити позитивний імідж України у світі та пояснити її позицію щодо глобальних подій. Метою цієї роботи є показати, як неправдива інформація в ЗМІ може негативно впливати на публічну дипломатію та як країни, особливо Україна, можуть реагувати на цю проблему.
