    Комунікативні функції умовних речень англійського класичного та сучасного роману: порівняльний аспект

    The article considers the category of condition by means of studying the peculiarities of conditional sentences functioning through time continuum. The research outlines the communicative functions of conditional sentences of the novels ―Pride and Prejudice‖ by Jane Austen and ―Me Before You‖ by Jojo Moyes as representatives of English classical and modern literature and their Ukrainian translations made by Hanna Leliv and Nadiia Khaietska in the comparative aspect. In this regard conditional sentences act as means of information exchange that perform certain functions. In the paper it is proposed to distinguish the following communicative functions of conditional sentences of the novels: warning, threat, causality, thoughtforming, apology, assumption, instruction demand, and promise
