    Analysis of DME/DME positioning capabilities for borispil airspace region

    Case of on board equipment failure or in case of unavailability of GNSS support (for example: result of some errors), flight management system (FMS) has to use other alternative methods for positioning. FMS has got diferent positioning alghoritms with is grounted on current navigation aids infrastructure [1]. One of them uses distance measurement equipment (DME) for this purpose. DME positioning technics are the most accurate in this situation and avalible on the bigger part of Ukrainian airspace. In this case, it is possible to regard DME like an alternate source of positioning, navigation and timing during the absence of GNSS service. That’s why, DME actively supported by airlines regional carriers and high-end business operators who are equipped with advanced DME avionics. The main task of distance measuring equipment is to provide pilots with distance information between the aircraft and the ground station and is used in all phases of flight. It`s effective tool for strengthening pilot navigation and increasing situation understanding. This technology gives the able pilots to determine exact locations while en route as well as identify descent points on an instrument approach.

    The place of the given subject in the system of professional training of the specialist: 272 «Aviation Transport». This course is the theoretical basis of a set of knowledge and skills that allow systematizing and expanding knowledge about the methodology of organization and conducting applied scientific research in the field of aviation transport. The target of mastering the subject is formation of knowledge and skills on the methods of organizing and conducting applied scientific research in the field of aviation transport in order to prepare for independent performance of scientific work. The tasks of mastering the subject are the following: familiarization with basics of methodology, technology and organization of scientific research activities, that is, to form a theoretical and practical basis for effective, qualified conducting of scientific research by masters; basics of writing excellent scholar papers and approbation of obtained scientific results.

    Information processing algorithm from navigation sensors of user mobile devices

    Scientific innovation is in the following: using a specially created program was making analysis of data from sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, sound intensity sensor, GPS receiver) of user pocket devices such as (smartphone, smart glasses, car din smart devices, tablets, etc.). Data is recorded in txt textual form in special format. Software supports two types of data processing: Polynomial interpolation and Spline interpolation for unique time. Why it is so important to transmit data online into MatLab. Nowadays rapidly are developing unmanned aerial vehicles. If we can transmit data from UAV sensors into MatLab, then we can process it and get the desired information about UAV. Of course we have to use the most chipiest way to data transfer.

    Investigation of magnetic field

    Earth's magnetic field – is a field around our planet, where there are magnetic forces. Magnetic field is characterized by intensity vector. Intensity vector “T” is the sum of the vectors strengths of several fields: The main magnetic field (dipole uniform) is formed by electric currents in the earth's core, the magnetization of the upper layers of the earth creates a so-called continental field, ferromagnetic ore unevenly located in the earth's surface create local anomalous, magnetic fields that distort the main field of the Earth. Typically, the vector T is estimated from its projections, on the NED coordinate system (Mx, My, Mz components). Also important two angles: declination and inclination, which indicated position of intensity vector in space, horizontal H and vertical Z components indicate intensity of T. Declination is positive for an eastward deviation of the field relative to true north. It can be estimated by comparing the magnetic north/south heading on a compass with the direction of a celestial pole. The inclination is given by an angle that can assume values between -90° (up) to 90° (down). In the northern hemisphere, the field points downwards. It is straight down at the North Magnetic Pole and rotates upwards as the latitude decreases until it is horizontal (0°) at the magnetic equator.

    Position detection is one of the key tasks of navigation. Nowadays positioning market represented by different positioning techniques. The main of them for typical civil users is Global Navigation Satellite System which has global coverage but limited for usage in close area (buildings). Telecommunication network also using for positioning purpose but for urban area, this approach not accurate because radio wave reflects from buildings and produce valuable errors. In this case inertial navigation principle can help.

    The main problem of multi DME/DME positioning approach has been discussed. Timing problem related to avionics structure of civil aircraft that is result of possibility of operation with one pair of DMEs at one time. Recurrent investigation was proposed to solve the timing problem.
