    The ethnic basis of national identity in Italy

    Іtalians say that firstly they are Venetians, Neapolitans, Piedmonts, Florentines, Europeans and finally they are the Italians. They have something in common such sa cappuccino, pizza and football of course when it says about the national football team. It is hard to find a country in Europe where people engage with each other but it is Italy. Citizens don’t agree with the Risorgimento or Italian unification. In southern Italy people think that the unification has led to the expropriation their wealth by the northern Italians. On the other hard the northern Italians are sure that it’s better to depend on Viennese authorities than corrupt Roman authorities.
