    Analysis of the ecosystem sustainability for the city of Kyiv

    The qualification work investigates the impact of the construction of a new metro line in the Vynohradar district of Kyiv on the state of the urbanized ecosystem. The aim of the study is to assess the environmental sustainability of the urban environment in the context of a large-scale infrastructure project. Open data sources, satellite images, results of mobile noise measurements, information on soil conditions and groundwater depth were used. A sustainability index was calculated (S = 0.88), which indicates a relatively unfavorable state of the natural components of the territory. The study demonstrates that even with a simplified methodology based on available environmental indicators, it is possible to identify potential risks and determine the balance between urban development and the preservation of its natural environment. У кваліфікаційній роботі досліджено вплив будівництва нової гілки метро у районі Виноградар міста Києва на стан урбанізованої екосистеми. Метою дослідження є оцінка екологічної стійкості міського середовища в умовах масштабного інфраструктурного проєкту. Використано відкриті джерела даних, супутникові знімки, результати мобільних вимірювань шуму, інформацію про cтан ґрунтів і глибину ґрунтових вод. Проведено розрахунок індексу стійкості (S = 0.88), який вказує на відносно несприятливий стан природних компонентів території. Робота демонструє, що навіть за допомогою спрощеної методики на основі доступних екологічних індикаторів можна виявити потенційні ризики та визначити баланс між розвитком міста й збереженням його природного середовища.

    The state of the ecosystem of the Shostka River according to the parameters of ichthyofauna

    The bachelor’s thesis analyzes the ecological condition of the Shostka River based on ichthyofauna indicators. The study included hydrological and hydrochemical analysis, species composition assessment, biometric and visual observations of fish, and sociological surveys of local residents and fishermen. Results indicate partial ecological recovery after the cessation of industrial discharges, with signs of natural fish reproduction and moderate biodiversity. However, eutrophication, siltation, and pollution still persist, especially in urbanized areas. The study provides practical recommendations for improving water quality, restoring fish populations, and involving the community in environmental protection. У бакалаврській роботі аналізується екологічний стан річки Шостка на основі показників іхтіофауни. Дослідження включало гідрологічний та гідрохімічний аналіз, оцінку видового складу, біометричні та візуальні спостереження за рибами, а також соціологічні опитування місцевих жителів та рибалок. Результати свідчать про часткове відновлення екологічної ситуації після припинення промислових скидів, з ознаками природного відтворення риб та помірним біорізноманіттям. Однак, евтрофікація, замулення та забруднення все ще зберігаються, особливо в урбанізованих районах. Дослідження надає практичні рекомендації щодо покращення якості води, відновлення популяцій риб та залучення громади до охорони навколишнього середовища. Висновки підтверджують, що іхтіофауна є надійним показником здоров'я річкової екосистеми та цінним інструментом для сталого управління малими міськими водоймами.
