Метафорика М. Дочинця в оригіналі і перекладі (на матеріалі його твору: Многії літа, благії літа)

Abstract

The article discovers a range of metaphors in the work of a broad genre, which lies on the intersection of philosophy, a guide, a cookbook. This is “Many Years, Blessed Years” by Myroslav Dochynets. It was an attempt to analyze the book by means of interdisciplinary methodology, which covers such disciplines as literary studies, philosophy and linguistics. In the course of our research, we have found out that the metaphor in the work under study can be classified as a common metaphor, compositional metaphor, comparative metaphor, allusion-metaphor, colour metaphor. Comments on translation, found in the article reveal the complexity of rendering the words of folk wisdom, belonging to one culture into the language representing absolutely different cultural reality
