Neuro-psychological resilience as a criterion for the protection of civilian population under conditions of armed conflict

Abstract

Given the three years of active combat operations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the Russian Federation and the unpredictability of the duration and consequences of continued hostilities, the relevance of the chosen topic is indisputable. The living conditions of civilians in Ukraine are increasingly complicated by terrorist shelling of civil infrastructure in populated areas. As a result of unjustified civilian casualties, emotional and informational pressures are intensifying, and the psychological state of individuals, especially those living in occupied territories, is deteriorating. Depending on the potential consequences for themselves and their families, as well as in the interest of maintaining mental and physical health, it is essential for individuals to learn how to overcome stress in order to preserve neuro-psychological resilience and well-being.

Враховуючи три роки активних бойових дій Збройних Сил України проти Російської Федерації та непередбачуваність тривалості та наслідків продовження бойових дій, актуальність обраної теми є безперечною. Умови життя мирного населення в Україні дедалі ускладнюються обстрілами терористами об’єктів цивільної інфраструктури в населених пунктах. Внаслідок невиправданих жертв серед мирного населення посилюється емоційний та інформаційний тиск, погіршується психологічний стан людей, особливо тих, хто проживає на окупованих територіях. Залежно від потенційних наслідків для них самих та їхніх сімей, а також в інтересах збереження психічного та фізичного здоров’я людям важливо навчитися долати стрес, щоб зберегти нервово-психічну стійкість і благополуччя.
