Group of Business English Skills of University Learners as a Defining Factor for Workplace Competitiveness

Abstract

Language learning strategies are acknowledged as essential components in the pursuit of effective language acquisition. Learners who skillfully implement appropriate strategies are better equipped to navigate uncertainties associated with task demands, express their ideas, and evaluate their own competencies. A significant challenge faced by non-native speakers is the dual task of developing writing skills while simultaneously learning the language. The focus on strategies, particularly in relation to academic writing, has often been overlooked, especially among learners with lower levels of proficiency. In the realm of second and foreign language education, both educators and researchers have concentrated on identifying and applying the language learning strategies employed by successful learners. It is suggested that proficient language learners may utilize unique strategies that could benefit others. There is a prevailing belief that language learning strategies can significantly improve the current landscape of academic writing, which poses various challenges for university students. Стратегії вивчення мови визнані важливими компонентами у прагненні до ефективного оволодіння мовою. Учні, які вміло застосовують відповідні стратегії, краще підготовлені до подолання невизначеностей, пов'язаних з вимогами завдань, висловлення своїх ідей та оцінки власних компетенцій. Значною проблемою, з якою стикаються неносії мови, є подвійне завдання розвитку навичок письма та одночасного вивчення мови. Акцент на стратегіях, особливо стосовно академічного письма, часто ігнорується, особливо серед учнів з нижчим рівнем володіння мовою. У сфері освіти з другої та іноземної мов, як викладачі, так і дослідники зосереджувалися на визначенні та застосуванні стратегій вивчення мови, що використовуються успішними учнями. Вважається, що ті, хто добре володіє мовою, можуть використовувати унікальні стратегії, які можуть бути корисними для інших. Існує поширена думка, що стратегії вивчення мови можуть значно покращити сучасний стан академічного письма, що створює різні труднощі для студентів університетів.
